Club Manager

The Whakatane Golf Club is looking for a confident, experienced person to provide leadership, and maximise revenue and growth opportunities for the club.

We're looking for a person who has proven experience in administration, finance, leadership, member and sponsor engagement, facilities management, hospitality and events management.

The manager will report to the Executive Board and work closely with Management Committees.  Experience  in Xero and a Bar Manager's licence would be an advantage.

Do you:

  • Have previous leadership and operational management experience?
  • Have the ability to lead in a collaborative space where influence is key?
  • Have the ability to think outside the square, be creative and come up with solutions?
  • Have the ability to inspire a small team and to get their buy-in  to be a centre of excellence?

Golf Club Assistant

Our golf club assistants will be the golfing 'face and personality' within the club.

This is a position for someone who wants to get into retail/hospitality or to extend their experience with these areas and is perfect for someone who has a positive demeanour and wants to make a difference.  This role provides the individual opportunity to learn new skills and be part of a fun dynamic team that is putting the Whakatane Gold Club back on the map.

  • having a sound knowledge of golf, merchandising and sales techniques, and experience in food and beverage service

  • previous experience of working in a club or retail, or service environment is an advantage
  • experience with POS and eftpos systems or similar as well as abilities to update websites and social media platforms
  • understanding of the promotion and organisation of golfing events and competitions, and non golfing or fundraising events
  • proven high level of communication skills
