Well what a day, this is my favorite day on the calendar; it is such a social and enjoyable day, with events on many holes that will be talked about for time to come. Congratulations to Andrew Hamilton for winning.
To all that saw me bouncing balls off trees and them ending up on the greens, putting balls out of bounds and living to the end, I hoped you enjoyed the entertainment.
The unlucky person to be knocked out on the first hole was Colin Brown, after a chip off involving the top qualifier Mark Kershaw who was under the pressure, from his syndicate.
2nd Hole Butler Brown
3rd Hole Steven Yule (previous year’s top qualifier and champion)
4th Hole John Banbury
5th Hole Ivan Godfrey
6th Hole Ryan Maxwell
7th Huck Johnson
8th Brian Dunn
9th Ken Lynch
10th Tony Hall
11th Darryl McEwan
12th Kerr Aird
13th Mark Kershaw TQ
14th Clarke Baker
15th Jack Shapley
16th Jim Martin
17th Mark Badger
18th Richard Winslade
Winner Andrew Hamilton

Thanks to everyone that attended the AGM.
It was a good turn out, this as mentioned by other members is a reflection on how well the previous years mens commitee and myself as club captain are performing.
We discussed some important topics, things I thought we would be topical and provoked lengthy discussions.
The two main topics that were discusssed and we recevied feed back on was slow play and the introduction of more blue tees on the calendar for next year.
On slow play we will be introducing penalties for people caught playing slow. We the incoming committee will need to discuss how this can be implemented. But suggestions from the floor will be to have someone in a cart out on the course monitoring slow play. They will have the authority to give people a hurry up and submit stroke penaltys or ask people to move to the next hole.
Blue Tees, and the introduction of more of them on our saturdays was well received, we did have some objections but overall I felt members were open to the idea. Considering that juniors are only looking at 50% of saturdays off the blues and intermediate and seniors 65% this might have something to do with it. This has been called for in previous years and Me in my final year as Club Captain have decided to run with it and see how it works. I would encourage all members to give it a go and we will reflect on it, and decide the outcome at the end of the 09 years calendar.
To my mens committee from 08 who are no longer on the committee, Mark kershaw, Ken Lynch, John Scott, Barney Gray, Colin Brown, thankyou for your support. To the incoming committee, Daryl McEwan, Mark Badger, Ned Kerekere, Russell Nichol, Stuart Milne and Tony Hall, thankyou for Volunteering and I look forward to working with you over the next year.
